Yes, yes indeed He does answer. Yesterday in this little blog I shared the story of the daughter of a friend. Kayla is 22 and late last year was diagnosed with liver cancer. I came here to ask that you join me and many others who were praying for a successful surgery yesterday to remove the tumor in her body. Well, friends, many, many people across this country have been for many, many months, and an even great number yesterday lifting amazing prayers for Kayla. And…Father answered them all π .
Kayla’s mom reported yesterday afternoon that the surgery had gone very well. Actually, the surgeon said it “couldn’t have gone better”. He was very pleased. They removed the mass and some lymph nodes and within 7 – 10 days will have results of the biopsy to make sure things are clean. They will know more in the coming days if Kayla will need any further treatments.
I was thinking this morning about Kayla’s journey these past months. This journey was more than a journey to fight off a disease and save a young woman’s life. This journey was, and continues to be, a journey of bringing God’s children together to support each other and to lean on Father for strength and healing. This journey brought people from across the country together in prayer, every – single – day. People prayed for a specific purpose, and those prayers were answered yesterday. Father hears, and He answers.
Yesterday I shared that, as part of her healing process, Kayla asked that we share with her, our prayer requests. Kayla will be praying for others’ specific needs as she heals. I believe those prayers will be answered as well π .
Friends, it’s easy sometimes to click the “caring” emoji on social media when someone asks for prayer. It’s easy sometimes to type that we’re lifting prayers. Imagine the difference though if we actually stop, stop when we read a prayer request, stop and bow our heads and say a prayer for that specific need. Prayer is a powerful tool, sometimes I don’t think we realize how powerful. Father knows though, and I believe satan does too. So, let’s use this powerful tool the way it was intended, let’s take time to lift prayers for those who need them, be specific, and be intentional. Like they were with Kayla, prayers are answered.
Have a great day my friends, and THANK YOU for joining in to offer prayers for Kayla and her family yesterday π .
James 5:16
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
