Yesterday morning I was blessed with a call. My phone rang and I noticed it was my oldest, it was early so I grabbed it hoping all was ok. As I said hi, the voice on the other end was not my daughter. It was my grandson calling to remind me that he was a senior in high school. I could feel the smile grow across my face and my heart just felt so happy hearing his voice. We chatted as his mom drove him to school and he shared how he had a new teacher this year, how he was going to be helping the cafeteria staff again, and how he was also going to be volunteering at the humane society. Yes, my day was now complete 🙂 .
If you’ve been here long reading this little blog, you know that our grandson has Down syndrome and some other medical issues. The fact that he is with us this day is a miracle, and to hear him tout that he is a senior, well it’s pretty awesome. I saw the picture my daughter posted on social media from yesterday morning of my grandson all ready for school, similar to all the others I’ve been seeing this week. His smile was genuine, not the goofy one he sometimes gives. That smiling face made me once again thank Father for this beautiful gift. You can’t describe that kind of love.
Last night I also saw a social media post from a friend who just recently had a baby. I had mentioned here before that she and her husband have been trying for a very long time to have children. Her little daughter is a miracle baby for sure. This friend posted the most amazing professional photos of their new little family. The joy that she captured in the smiling faces of these new parents, as they held this little gift in between them, was priceless. You can’t describe that kind of love.
And friends, I have an update on little Maevryn, (who I have been referring to as Baby M). Her mom posted this yesterday:
“GOD IS GOOD !
Our prayers are working! Prayers from family/friends/strangers, prayer chains, and prayer lists at churches all over the world. It brings tears to our eyes.
Maevryn is slowly, but surely making progress. She even gave us a few smiles and waves tonight. Please continue to pray as she continues to fight and recover from this awful infection.
We can’t thank you all enough for your love and support. Love you all ❤ “
The prayers that we have been lifting are being heard. Father is healing this little precious gift. As I scrolled through the pictures that Maevryn’s mom shared, pictures of the family holding this little one, I noticed yet again those beautiful smiling faces. The image of her mom as she looks down on little Maevryn, seeing her smile and wave for the first time in so many days, friends, you simply can’t describe that kind of love.
As I thought about these different situations this morning, I realized the message Father was giving to me. He was showing me the love that He has for us, His children. I imagine when He looks down at us, as He holds us in His hands, He feels a love that just can’t be described. Even through those times when we may disappoint Him, when we may fall short through our sins, Father loves us with an indescribable love.
So as you start your day, take a moment to hug your kids and family, send them a text, or give them a call. Enjoy the feeling of love that just can’t be described, and know, that Father shares this very kind of love for us.
Have a great day my friends, and once again, thank you, thank you, thank you for your continued prayers for Maevryn. They are working, and she is healing 🙂 .
