Praying and Pampering

Sounds like a nice name for a new business doesn’t it, praying and pampering, hmmmm 🙂 . I was just thinking about what was on my docket today and that catchy title popped into my head. I spent some time with Father this morning on the lanai, and as I’ve said before in this little blog, Saturday mornings are the best. It’s so quiet and as the sun is rising the birds are so active. They carry on their conversations, the wildlife is moving around the water of our lake, (although not as much right now because of how low it is, that’s a whole different story). Yes, Saturdays are a different feel for sure.

We’re heading into fall so football season has started and I’m sure there will be tailgates and the like today. However, for me, it’s a little day of pampering. By my count, this is the first Saturday in about I’d say 12 weeks that I don’t plan on working. I’ve spent a little time praying with Father and now I’m off for a little me time. I was trying to determine if it would be totally uncool to show up for my haircut and pedi appt. wearing my stained fishing shorts and t-shirt. Figured I’d toss my fishing gear in the back of the truck and head to my favorite spot after my appointment 🙂 . Okay, ya I’ve since decided against it, maybe next time though.

Our bodies and our minds need a break at times. We all know how important it is to step away from the craziness we deal with all week long. Father wants us to rest and to recharge ourselves. We can’t be strong enough to help others if we are worn down, tired, or sick. So today, I’m spending a little time on myself, and might even find myself with a good book in a lawn chair somewhere 🙂 .

Friends, whatever you have planned today, I hope it entails a little downtime. Make sure to take care of yourself, and give yourself the time you need to rest and recharge your batteries. And…give yourself time with Father, so that He might recharge you spiritually.

Have a wonderful day my friends 🙂 .

Exodus 33:14
And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
