Well to say that I’m a little overwhelmed with the loving and encouraging comments on this little blog, the text messages, emails, and social media messages, I received from yesterday’s little blog post, yes that would be an understatement. As I said yesterday, I’m blessed beyond words. I’m kind of speechless, which doesn’t happen often 🙂 . THANK YOU all for your wonderful messages 🙂 .
Decisions like the one I shared yesterday are not easy, however, seeing what happened yesterday showed me something. It confirmed what I should be doing and the path I should be walking. You see yesterday many people messaged me and said they didn’t know about this little blog. They began reading some previous posts. Father led them here not me. Father led them to His messages that I share each day. If this little blog can share His message with just a few more people each day, that is what it’s all about. He moves in so many wonderful ways.
Father will be moving in a fun way today as well. You see today is our annual Blessing of the Pets at church. I’m taking my buddy Toby from next door. Those of you who don’t know about my buddy, you can learn about him in this little blog post. Our other neighbors are bringing their fur babies as well, Panda and Milton. So our neighborhood will be well represented 🙂 .
I love this event every year, even though we don’t personally own a fur baby. But…I’m an adopted mom now so that counts 🙂 . Father blesses us with our animals. Whether it’s a dog, cat, ferret, or bird, He entrusts us to take care of them and nurture them as well. They bring such joy to our lives and are special gifts indeed.
So today, we’ll take time to bless these beautiful creatures. We’ll use a blessing associated with Saint Francis, known as the saint of the animals. It’s such a beautiful prayer, that I thought I’d end this little blog with its message. If you have a fur baby, take a moment to say a prayer over them today 🙂 .
Have a wonderful day my friends, and thank you again to all of you who reached out yesterday. You will never know how humbled I am, and how incredibly blessed I feel.
A Blessing of the Animals
Blessed are you, Lord God of all living creatures.
On the fifth and sixth days of creation, you called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land. You inspired St. Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless the animals and all living creatures. By the power of your love, enable them to live according to your plan. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen
