New Lenses

I went to the eye doctor recently. Those of you who know me, know I’m pretty much blind as a bat without my contact lenses in. Actually I may be legally blind without them. Well, I mentioned to the doctor that I was having to wear my “cheater” glasses more often. You see I already have a multifocal prescription, meaning bi-focal contacts. So having to wear my cheaters on top of that, ugh, what a pain.

Well, as he always does, my eye doc tweaked things to see if he could adjust the prescription so I didn’t have to pick up those cheaters so often. He ordered the sample packs for me to test out before we placed the order for the full-year supply of new lenses. Long story, but the samples I received were incorrect, they sent me two packages of the same lens. They only sent me lenses for my right eye and nothing for my left eye. Yesterday I stopped by his office to pick up the correct prescription for the left eye, however, it was a totally different brand of lens.

So, here I am this morning with a new prescription and a totally different brand of contact in one eye. Ya, this ain’t working so well, things are kind of fuzzy. No worries I’ll just take the left contact out and swap it for my normal brand that I still have. Well…not so fast. The darn thing won’t come out. Weirdest thing I’ve ever had with contacts. Those of you who wear them, you know you just give a little pinch, and out it comes. Nope, not happening. It’s fitting so well around my eye that I can’t get it to come out. So at some point today, I’ll give the doc a call and say “Hey dude, what the heck kind of lens did you give to me?”.

Well, how does this all fit into this little blog this morning? Heck I don’t know, I just needed to share how my morning started with others besides my husband 🙂 .

Actually though, maybe this is Father saying, “Trust in me, even though you cannot see”. There are times when we all have trouble seeing why things are happening. That’s when our faith and trust in Him must be the strongest. In time God will help us see, He will help us to overcome, and He will guide us through the challenges and difficulties. We may not see clearly in the midst of it, but there will come a time when the “fuzziness” is gone.

Have a great day my friends. I’m off to leave a message for the doc 🙂 .

  1. I hope you didn’t go to Snead eye Care? It took me five weeks to finally get my new glasses after cataract surgery. (Frame I chose not in stock) or so the gal in their optical shop said. Then when they finally came in the left lens (which should be no correction as after cataract my vision is 20/20 distance, was fuzzy. Sooooo, she recorders the left lens (blaming the off site lab, when it was obviously her error)! Another 3 weeks and with leaving for OH,  I must now  go have them adjusted as the frames are very tight and after awhile,  hurt! And they were $800 plus! I loved the doctor himself, buy boy the after surgery experience was a joke! Nice, nice ladies but ohhhhh so incompetent!
