Simple Love

Part of my role at work is to help new couples with their wedding ceremonies. It’s been fun participating in this as I get to see all the different kinds of weddings. Some are very large, with black tie required, others are very simple, literally just the bride and groom and their parents. Some want little receptions on our dock, others just want to head to the beach for beautiful pictures, and still others want a grand reception in a beautiful hotel ballroom.

Yesterday we went to the wedding of a friend. It was a small wedding, at our church, and it was simply beautiful. What struck me was this wedding was so them. It was simple, the readings were so personal to them, the homily was funny, (even a little banter), but it was so from the heart.

The vows were traditional, simple, meaningful, heartfelt, and emotional. The couple, well there was simply no doubt, totally best friends, and share a simple intimate love for one another.

At the reception, again beautiful and simple, we all commented how the wedding was just perfect. It’s all it should be. A gathering of friends and family to witness the joining of two to become one. It was simple love in action. Father was so in the middle of the day yesterday. He is in the middle of their relationship, you can see that.

It’s amazing how things come together the way God intends. When He is the center of all that we do, beauty and simple love abound.

Friends, on this Sunday, let’s take some time to enjoy the simple love around us. Our spouses, children, parents, and friends, enjoy the love we share together. Have a wonderful day everyone πŸ™‚ .

1 Colossians 3:14
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
