Finding God’s Promise

When I started this little blog a few years ago I came up with the name Inspirasuns. The tagline is “Finding God’s Promise through sunrises & sunsets”. I’ve been taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets forever, and I’m fortunate to have tons of friends who send them to me now. I’ve even started sharing many of them here, thanks everyone, keep sharing them, I love featuring these beauties!

Over the past few days, we’ve had some serious rain here in SW Florida, like I mean buckets upon buckets. Some areas have seen almost 8″ and we could see as much as 5 – 10″ more before things settle down. I think it’s safe to say our little drought spell may be gone. At one point yesterday I announced in the office, “Oh look, it’s raining again”, and from there it just kept coming. We ducked out of the office a little early to make sure we could all get home. The church is in an older part of our town where the streets flood pretty easily, and yep, they did so yesterday. All made it home safe and sound though.

Fortunately, the rain did subside last night. I glanced out the window later in the evening and noticed the sun peeking through the clouds. Before I knew it, the sky was an amazing color. I stepped over to the window and couldn’t believe how stunning the sky was. I took pictures, today’s cover photo, but they don’t do justice to how beautiful it was. Not long after, pictures from local friends started appearing on social media. The sky was amazing all over SW Florida, including a stunning rainbow that appeared.

Last night, after days of heavy rain, God’s promise shined brightly. The beautiful sky was a sign from Father that He will always bring us through the storm. I can’t help but think of the time that Jesus calmed the seas when the disciples were so frightened in the boat. With just a whisper, the seas were calmed and the winds stopped. Last night, in just a short time, the rain stopped and the sky was amazing, and you know what else, everyone stopped to notice. So many pictures flooded, (so to speak), social media, all of the same thing. It was awesome to see.

We have more rain forecasted for the next many days, however, I know that Father will be with us. I’m pretty certain there will be some more opportunities to capture His promise through the sunsets.

Friends, take those moments to see God where you are. The storms will come, but He is always there to bring us through. When we get to the other side, look for the rainbow, it’s Father’s sign of hope.

Have a great day my friends 🙂 .

Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

The rainbow reminds us of God’s promise……that is it! I refuse to let this world take that away and make it mean anything else!!!!
