I think there is a popular song isn’t there, maybe by James Taylor, something about a little more time with you? I’ll let someone else go digging through the archives for that one, I just had the words come to me this morning while chatting with Father.
As I sat down on our lanai this morning I realized, more than usual how beautiful it was. Still dark mind you, however, it felt a little less humid, maybe only 85% instead of the 90% we’ve been experiencing 🙂 . I could see the stars and the birds weren’t quite stirring yet. It was calm and made me feel relaxed inside. I said my usual “Good Morning Father”, and then what came to mind, and ultimately right out of my mouth was, “Thank you for this little bit of time with you this morning”.
You all know that this is how I start and end my day, with just a little bit of time with Father. I can’t really explain the grounding, or regrounding that occurs when I have this quiet time with Him. Yes, there are times when I struggle to focus, my mind wanders to the events of the day that have occurred or are yet to come even. Some days I have to really work to keep my eyes on Him. But then there are mornings like today, where it was so calm and so peaceful, my focus was truly on Him.
I was able to really dig into prayer and ask for his guidance for my day. I
was more specific about where I needed help, felt I was struggling, or was
unsure of what to do. I told Father the specific areas where I feel I don’t
know what to do and asked Him to help me learn and grow.
Friends, no matter how busy your day is going to be, or was, no matter how crazy things may get, just make sure to carve out a little time with Him. There truly is nothing more important in this world than our relationship with God, it simply has to come first. When we make time for it, when we make it our first priority, the rest will fall into place. I’m not saying anything you don’t already know, maybe Father just wants me to toss out a simple reminder every now and then.
Have a wonderful day my friends, and remember, God is truly always with us. He wants us to stop and enjoy that time with Him 🙂 .
p.s. Thanks so much to my friend Jenny Tipsword for the beautiful sunset picture, the cover of today’s little blog.
Mark 1:35
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
