I’ve been having a private message conversation with a group of friends over the past few days. It’s a private group set up by the daughter of my old martial arts teacher. She set up this group made up of many of her dad’s former students. We all go way back, like I mean way back. It’s been an interesting conversation these few days as we’ve shared memories of when we all practiced together and did the tournament circuit. Yes, that was a long time ago, and stories there for another little blog 🙂 .

I mentioned in the conversation last night that to this day I still shake hands with a person with my index finger extended, and asked if anyone recalled why. I think only one did recall. The reason you wonder, well it is to let the energy flow through you and out. You see there is an energy inside you at all times, and when you are physically active you want to release this energy, especially if you need additional strength. When I was training back in the day, we always worked on breathing and ways to keep the energy flowing through us. So, now that you have your lesson from the old arts, you probably want me to get to the point right?

This morning as I sat and talked with Father, asking what to share here today, I saw some lightning flash in the distance. Again, the energy metaphor. It made me think again about the energy we all have and carry, only this time I thought specifically about the positive and negative energy we carry. We all have both you know, and the question is, how do we release it? Do we spread the negative energy when we are around others or do we fill the space around us with the positive?

I know a few people who just simply are a joy to be around. They are always positive, always have a smile on their face and a genuine joy exudes from them. I feel better just being with them, they don’t even have to say a word. In my opinion, that is the Holy Spirit working through them.

Then of course others are constantly negative. There is never anything right in their world and they are, unfortunately, just not happy. When I leave their presence, well, I’m just exhausted. Yep, you guessed it, in my opinion, satan has managed to dance around and keep their unhappiness flowing. Don’t get me wrong they are not evil people, just very unhappy.

At the end of the day friends, the energy we release into the world makes a difference, especially to those around us. The more positive energy we can share, well, the stronger those around us become. Father fills us with His energy every day if we let Him. If we can pass that on to others, oh, my what a difference we can make in this world.

So today, take a moment to think about the energy you bring and release into the space around you. And hey, the next time you shake hands with someone try leaving that index finger extended. Feel the energy flow through as you smile and say hello, you might just feel the difference 🙂 .
