As The Sun Rises

As I type this blog, Milton has passed through most of the state. He is making his final exit on the northeast side, and I am lifting prayers for friends in that area and for everyone in the state affected by this storm.

As the sun rises this morning we will assess the damage. Our home and community are okay, maybe just a few downed limbs. Surge came into our city though and we’ll know more soon about the flooding damage that has occurred. Our church and offices, it appears, have some water damage. Again, we’ll know more when the sun rises.

The sun will rise and as it does, I give thanks to Father for wrapping His arms around our state. There is damage, yes, but He was with us in so many ways yesterday, as He always is. The sun will rise soon and we will begin the process of cleaning up and rebuilding. We endured, and we will overcome, just as we always do. Father will be by our side and will give strength to so many who need it.

As the sun rises this morning, I pray for all in the sunshine state, and for all in this great country of ours.  We’ll come together, roll up our sleeves, and git ‘r done. Oh, and we’ll take any prayers you can lift friends, the more the merrier 🙂 .

Father, be with all those today who have endured so much these last few weeks. Continue to strengthen your children, and let us look to you as the sun rises. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

p.s. Thanks to my friend Joey Waves for the sunset picture from Ft. Lauderdale last night 🙂

Psalm 113:3
From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!
