We are all faced with challenges at times in our lives. Well, now there is a very “duh” kind of statement, right? Sometimes those challenges come in a slow build-up, sometimes they come totally out of the blue and blindside us. Regardless, they come and many times we are left just asking why.
I have a friend who recently found herself in the midst of one of life’s challenges. A family member was recently diagnosed with cancer. Those of you who have dealt with this disease, (as our family has), in any shape or form know the drill. The questions come, the fear, the what’s next, and sometimes the “why”.
I have to admit, I don’t usually ask “why” when Father brings challenges into my life because I choose to believe that all things do happen for a reason and most of the time it’s God helping me grow. I try to change that question to “How do you want me to handle this”, or “Lord please light my path and lead me through this that I may learn your will”.
The friend that I mentioned, shared that she wasn’t sure why this was happening. Although she shared she felt she knew that they needed to focus on this family member, they needed to make arrangements to move him in with loved ones to be cared for on this journey, she admitted she was asking why. We talked a while longer and we both agreed that the Lord was in the middle of this situation and that He would make her path clear.
That discussion took place several weeks ago. I got a note from her late last night giving me an update. Many health procedures have been taking place of course, and they have a clear plan ahead on that front for her loved one. She finished her note by saying, “I’ve been talking with Father and the “why” has been answered with have faith, all will be well”.
When challenges arise, when we don’t have answers, when we don’t understand, it’s natural to ask “Why me or us”. It’s at that time that we need only to turn to Jesus. Let go of the fear, let go of the pain, let Him have it all. When you do, then listen, listen for the words that will help light the path and guide the walk you are on.
Friends, it really is this simple. Jesus loves us with every fiber of His being. It’s an unconditional love that we cannot even fathom. He only asks that we accept His love, and then share it with others. Have faith friends, all will be well.
Have a wonderful day π
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
