When the Heart Is Heavy

Even though we have a relationship with Christ, share everything with Him, and give ourselves fully to Him, that doesn’t mean there won’t be times when we are sad. We are human, and Father doesn’t expect us not to have emotions.

Today friends, my heart is heavy. I have a friend, (I won’t share their name for privacy’s sake), who is dealing with a terminally ill family member. The time for her to be escorted to Heaven is very near. My heart is heavy for my friend because he is hurting from this loss as you can imagine. I’ve been giving support as much as I can from a distance. I lift prayers and listen when he needs to talk and send scripture verses, but I feel helpless.

It’s difficult to watch a loved one pass away. Yes, it is a fact of our temporary time here, that our physical bodies will one day cease to function. Our souls, well we all know that those will live for eternity with our Lord. What a glorious future we have. However, those left behind weep and are sad. Even Jesus wept at the death of His friend Lazarus.

Today, friends, I just ask that you help me pray for my friend’s family member, let’s call her Mary. Please pray for peace and comfort as she makes her way home with Jesus by her side. Please also pray for my friend, who is sad and needs the loving arms of our Lord to engulf him during this time. Pray that he may find peace and healing through the pain.

Thank you my friends for always being here to lift prayers when needed. I’m humbled by the support you always give ❤ .

1 Corinthians 15:26
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

  1. My heart too big s heavy for this friend of yours and so many. One may ask why oh why when one departs for a better place, why does the parting bring such sorrow??? Praise God for the gift of happy memories to hold on to. And yet like a deep unseen bruise the pain remains and when touched reminds us that it is there. I am so thankful you are there for this friend. And for Mary. I join you in all thoughts and prayers. Praise to our God for the comfort he will bring and for His love as he receives Mary in His open arms in heaven above. God Bless you for your words and love.
