As I was sitting chatting with Father this morning, (side note, inside and not in my usual spot on the lanai, brrrrr), I asked Him to help me do His work today. It’s hard sometimes to know if what I’m doing is what Jesus wants me to be doing. I mean I go throughout my day trying to do my best, and yes there are days when I falter, well like multiple times a day, but I do try my best. Alas, I’m human and there are times when I don’t handle things as well as I should, and I’m realizing more and more that those are the times when I need to give a little more of myself to Him.
As I sat with God this morning I also asked Him to help me with a message I could share in this little blog. What I heard was “Just give a little bit of yourself”. After I heard that, the story of the widow who put two small copper coins in the offering box came to mind. In Mark 12, verses 41-44, Jesus witnesses a poor widow come to the treasury to put in the gift of two small copper coins, basically all that she had. It only amounted to about a penny, but she gave it. Jesus told his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”.
When I think about that story I pray that one day I can get to the point where I can freely give everything to our Lord. Can I fully commit myself totally to Him? I think His message to me this morning was to give a little bit more of myself each day to Him. Little by little if I give more and more to Him, then I will get there, fully committed.
So friends, today, I just encourage you to give just a little bit of yourself to Jesus. Spend time talking to Him on your drive to work, stop and give thanks at lunchtime, or ask Him to guide you through the challenging day you may have ahead. Just take a moment to give a little bit more of yourself to Him. Before we know it, we’ll be all in 🙂 .
Have a great day friends, please continue to lift prayers for so many in need. Prayers too for our sweet Emily Rea.

2 Corinthians 9:7
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
