Enough of the Sunset

Whoa, what, enough of the sunset? Did you ever think you’d see that title for this little blog? I mean this blog is based on sunrises and sunsets, how could I ever have enough of a sunset? Well, that is just the point I want to share today. I don’t think you can ever get enough of sunsets, or sunrises.

The good thing about these simple gifts is that not only are they free, (priceless is a better word), but they, for as long as we are here in this world, are endless. Here’s the problem with them though, if we don’t prioritize then they come up and go down without us even noticing. Yes, we miss some of the most beautiful gifts that Father provided to us.

If you’ve followed this little blog for very long, you know that my husband and I both work at our church. We’re fortunate in that it’s located just about 2 1/2 minutes from the beach 🙂 . You would think that would open the door for us to watch the sunset every night on our way home, especially at this time of year. Well yes, the door is open, the question is do we take the time to walk through the darn thing and enjoy the simple beauty of this gift? Most nights, no we don’t, and it’s usually because we’ve got other things on our mind, we’re having a conversation about something, we’re tired, or whatever other reason you can think of. Really, there is no good excuse.

Friends, yes, I’m a broken record sometimes, however, I’ll say it again, this life is so short and we have been given so many simple gifts, we gotta take time to enjoy them. The gift of watching a sunrise or a sunset costs absolutely nothing. The beauty they bring, and the calmness they can instill are priceless. Let’s take time to appreciate these gifts that Father has provided and even more importantly, give thanks for them. Time to reprioritize, (again), and make sure there is never enough of the sunset.

Special thanks to my friend Patty Gibbs for the sunset picture from Mt. Dora, FL last night, the cover of today’s little blog 🙂 .

Have a great day friends, continued prayers for those in North Carolina, California and of course for our sweet Emily Rea’s return.

Psalm 113:3
From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised.

That picture is gorgeous, and I am sure it doesn’t show the true beauty of seeing it in person! God is such an amazing artist… so thankful for the natural beauty He creates for us!!!
