A friend and I were talking via text yesterday afternoon about the crazy schedules in our lives right now. It seems like we have just gotten up and before we know it the sun is setting, and the day has flown by. We’re juggling work, and home life, weekdays and weekends are filled, and the calendar doesn’t seem to have any space on it, shew.
At one point my friend commented that he is regularly asking Father to “Just get me through this!”. Yes, I admit, I have said the same thing as well. And you know…He always seems to do just that. He gets us through the challenges, the crazy schedules, and the events we may not particularly like to experience, the Lord is there to get us through.
As I thought about this short conversation yesterday, I found myself wondering, instead of asking Father to “Just get me through this”, shouldn’t my prayer be, “I trust in you Lord, and I know that on the other side of this, I’ll be stronger and more equipped to do your work, so let’s do this!”. Oh, trust me, I know there are times when just getting through a situation is half the battle. However, maybe changing our mindset, trusting fully in the power of our Lord, well, maybe that will make the ride through what we’re facing, less bumpy.
Jesus said that if we have the faith of a mustard seed, we can move mountains, and “nothing will be impossible”. Having a relationship with Him, having that deep-rooted faith that ALL things are possible, that is what will get us through. So yes, instead of “Lord just get me through this”, I think it’s time to stand firm in faith and say, “Lord, I trust in you, let’s do this”. Time to move some mountains 🙂 .
So, friends, take a moment this morning as you prep for your day, ask Father to equip you to handle the challenges of the day. Hold firm in your faith, and be ready to face what comes. Together with our Lord, we got this 🙂 .
Have a good day friends, prayers this morning for the return of our sweet Emily Rea.
Matthew 17:20
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you”.
