I know how I feel as a parent and grandparent when my grown children and grandchildren have done things that go against what they know is right. I know how I feel when they make mistakes that could have been prevented. I feel sad, I feel hurt, and I wonder what I could have done differently to prevent them from going through the challenges they created. Yet I know, they have the free will to make the decisions in their lives, and I have to let them.
This morning, I can only wonder how Father is feeling as He watches His children. I can only imagine how He felt yesterday as His children freely took the lives of His other children. I believe He weeps.
Satan has found the cracks in the armor of God’s children. Over time, he has opened those cracks so wide that rivers of hatred and anger are allowed to rush. We have allowed this evil being to create his playground right under the nose of our Heavenly Father. Satan laughs, telling Father, “See, they will do whatever I ask, and will abandon you”. I believe our Lord weeps, knowing at some point, He will have to make things right, as He has so many times in the past.
Well, friends, we have a choice. We can continue to let the rivers of hate and division flow, or we, God’s children, can stand up and say No More. We can rebuke the force of evil that satan has spawned, and we can destroy that evil with the love and strength that Father gives us each and every day. Do not fall victim to the trap that the evil one has laid. The trap that waits for God’s children to become even angrier and lash out. Do not do that, you fall right into satans plan.
Instead, make a choice this morning to stand firm in your faith. Call on our Lord to fill you with the Holy Spirit and spread His love and strength to all you meet. Together, let’s wipe Father’s tears with our actions, show Him we believe, and we will not walk away from Him.
And friends…lift prayers for all who were affected by the actions of those bent on spreading evil yesterday.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
