Praying for Satan

Well, I guess I picked an interesting title for today’s little blog, didn’t I? My husband and I were discussing the Bible a few nights ago. We were discussing the events of the past week, which led us down the path to the Bible. We discussed the many times in the Bible where evil rears its ugly head, and how God’s children have turned from Him.

We got on the subject of satan, the fallen angel, and how we believe that Father would even forgive satan should he turn and repent and ask for forgiveness. It was at that point that my husband said he actually prays for satan. He said he couldn’t imagine carrying around the weight of having to be evil, making people do evil things, always looking for ways to spread evil. “It must be awful”. So, he prays for satan and asks God to turn his heart if that is at all possible.

We know in the Bible we are asked to pray for our enemies, those who look to do us harm. Is there a greater enemy than satan? I don’t believe so. If we are to truly do as Father asks, then praying for satan to repent and return to our Lord is not out of the question. Actually, it should be part of our prayers, yet I can honestly say, I’ve never done it. All I’ve ever considered when I think about him is how to destroy him and his evil. Well, the best way to destroy who he has become and his evil is to pray that Father turns his heart and he comes back to the goodness of God. Evil cannot survive the love of our Lord.

So friends, today, consider including satan in your prayers. What would happen if the multitudes began praying that Father would turn his heart? Let’s find out.

Have a good day friends. Continued prayers for the return of Emily Rea.

Romans 12:21
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
