Interesting question, or maybe it isn’t. I guess it is what you choose to believe, like so many things with Father. I believe that Father does give us signs that He is not only here, but that He is actively involved.
I have had conversations with people over the years, many of whom don’t feel that the Lord can communicate with us in a person-to-person sense. I have to admit, I don’t understand why we would think He wouldn’t. Father walked and talked with Adam and Eve every day in the Garden. He shared a loving relationship with them, Father to children. The Lord spoke with Moses regularly, and he listened to Moses in return.
So maybe, just maybe, God’s way of communicating with His children who have some doubts about physical conversation, maybe He just chooses to give signs, things that make you think. Here’s an example: last evening, I came out of my office, talking with Father, praying for someone, like really praying. I was asking the Lord to heal this person, to restore them to wholeness. I walked to our patio door just as a beautiful bald eagle flew in front of it and landed at the edge of the pond, maybe 50 yards away. We’ve not seen a bald eagle here before (although we have seen them before in our previous condo). The eagle sat watching for a time. I stepped out on the lanai to take a picture. He looked my way, then began walking up and down the bank for a moment. He looked back at me and took off in flight back over the water. In my opinion, this beautiful bird, our national bird, is a sign of strength. So yes, I choose to believe this was a sign from the Lord, a sign of strength and beauty.
Friends, Father is always with us. Be open to having a one-on-one relationship with Him. Talk to Him like you would a human father. Tell him your fears, let Him know when you’re angry, thank Him for the celebrations in life. My bet is…He’ll give you a sign that He is there. It might be words that you hear, or things that happen, but I’m confident He will let you know.
Have a good day, friends.
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
