The Things That Come Between

Have you noticed how easy it is to let “the things” come between you and Father? What do I mean by “the things”? Well, anything, all of it. The busy schedule, the work to-dos, the home life to-dos, this appointment, that ballgame, this meeting, you get the idea. Our everyday life presents “things” that get in the way of our relationship with our Lord.

It’s easy to do; we’re so focused on what we have to do that the doing of having Him first goes to the back of the line. We overschedule and before we know it, we’re deep in the weeds of the everyday and have left only a sliver of time for Him. And…if you’re like me, by the time the day comes to an end and I realize what I didn’t get done, ugh, I feel like the light at the end of the tunnel just got a little further away.

I guess if I did a better job of giving my day to Father and letting Him show me the priorities, well, that might first get rid of the things in between our relationship, and second, it might make my days a little more productive 🙂 . I come here almost daily, sharing how we need to do more of that; perhaps walking the talk is what I should have called this little blog today.

Friends, I’m not going to pretend that our days are going to be any less busy; they won’t unless we make that choice. But…giving each day to the Lord first, asking for guidance, and asking Him to help keep things out from between, might show us that choosing to schedule differently to be with Him is easier than we think.

So today, I encourage you, as I encourage myself, to start the day with Father and let Him take out the things in between. Let Him guide your day, and when He shows you what’s important…well, listen.

Have a good day friends.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
