Share Prayer

Can we ever have too much prayer? I guess that is one of the silliest questions I might have ever posed in this little blog, right?! No, I don’t believe we can ever have too much prayer in our lives. I don’t believe we can pray too much for others. I don’t believe that we can overshare prayer, so to speak.

I see more and more people praying for each other. I experience people asking for prayer and asking to pray. Last week, when several volunteers helped me with a project at church, they asked to pray before we began our work. Yes, prayer should be first and last in all that we do, for all that we do is to the Glory of God.

This morning, I want to share a prayer that is attributed to St. Francis. I love this prayer, because, in my opinion, it covers it all 🙂 .

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

So, friends, I wish you a wonderful day. Whatever is on your schedule today, I hope you’ll take a moment to begin with prayer and take the opportunity to share prayer with others.

Matthew 5:16
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
