Have you ever given thought to what Heaven will be like? Whoa, that’s a heavy question on a Monday morning, isn’t it ๐ . Where in the world did that come from?
My husband and I were having a conversation last night as we were enjoying a little nosh before dinner, taking in the beautiful sky as evening rolled in. We won’t talk about the fact that the rain, which we so need, and was forecasted for the weekend, moved all around us. Anyway, we were talking about missing our parents.
That conversation took us down the road of wondering what Heaven will be like. I know there will be a time when I stand before Jesus and account for how I spent my time here in this world. Once that is completed, then what? Does the gate magically swing open, and those that I love who have gone before, are they lined up to greet me? Is there a welcome home party? Interesting thoughts for the start of the week, I guess.
I believe, if it matters, that there will be a beauty like nothing we’ve ever seen. I believe there will be a peace that we have never felt. And yes, I believe that those who have gone before will be there to reunite with us. I can’t imagine Father giving us loved ones, and then when eternity comes, they won’t be with us. However, I do believe that we must account for a life here first.
Having said that, I’d better make the time here well spent. That old saying, “Live like there is no tomorrow”, there is truth to it. If we knew that the Lord was coming tomorrow, would it change the way we live today? Hmm…me thinks so ๐ .
So, friends, I realize this little blog was kind of out of left field today. Or was it really? If the message from the Lord was, “Hey, don’t forget, you gotta do My work there before you come home to spend eternity with Me”, well then I say, thanks for the reminder, Jesus!
Let’s go out today and do His work. Maybe that’s all I needed to say. Have a good day, friends. Make it count ๐ .
Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
