I have to admit, when my alarm went off this morning, I was like, “Really, it’s time to get up already”? It took me a few minutes to get moving, and even when I headed out the door for my walk, I was fighting curling back up with my blanky 🙂 .
I started up the street, and my neighbor was just rolling out his garbage bins. I said “Mornin’ Bob”, and he replied “Gooood Morning”, in a chipper voice. Now, mind you, it’s 5 a.m. when this is happening. It was what I needed, though. It made me smile, and I felt more awake and with it for sure.
I walked my usual route around our community and then through the walkway to the golf club next door. I usually walk around the club, parallel to one of the fairways. This morning I noticed that it was darker than usual. They didn’t have many of the outside lights on like they normally do. I turned on my flashlight and made my way around the bend, so to speak.
When I got around the corner, I glanced up at the sky. I could count every star. It was beautiful. The moon was way off on the horizon, so the black background of the sky made the stars sparkle incredibly bright. I noticed the Big Dipper, and without even thinking, I just blurted out, “It will be ok, won’t it, Father?” I can’t really explain the peace I felt while standing there looking at that beautiful sky. I felt the Lord’s reassurance that yes, it will be ok.
A lot is going on in our world, friends. Much of it we have no control over. What we do have control over is digging into our faith and standing up for our Lord. Sharing His love and showing that through Him, it will be ok. Through Him, we find that peace I experienced this morning when looking at that sky. Through Him, we can overcome anything thrown at us.
So, as you begin your day, take a moment to look up, see the sunrise, and let His peace fill you. It will be ok, friends.
Have a good day, friends. Thanks also for your continued prayers for those in the path of the Picuyane fire. It’s now 60% contained thanks to the efforts of our first responders. Keep those prayers coming!
Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.
