I’ve started something with my morning prayers and conversations with Father. I’ve added the Lord’s Prayer to the end of my conversation each morning.
In the past, whenever I didn’t know what to pray or what to say to the Lord, well, I always fell back to His prayer. I’m guessing that is pretty common for most of us, whether it be the Lord’s Prayer, the 23rd Psalm, or some other special prayer; we tend to go to what we know.
As I was ending my conversation this morning and finishing His prayer, the words “tried and true” came to mind. I don’t know that it was any special message from Father, but who knows, they came to mind, so there you go, the title of today’s little blog.
When I think about that phrase, I guess you could describe the Lord’s Prayer that way. Of course, the words are true; they came from Him. I’m not sure how the “tried” part of the phrase might fit in describing the Lord’s Prayer, but hey, we’re gonna stick with it for today 🙂 .
Friends, I’m not sure what you may be going through; hopefully, nothing overwhelming. Regardless of what it might be, I hope the simple and beautiful words of the Lord’s Prayer will help.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
they kingdome come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Have a great day, friends. Thank you for the prayers this week. The fire in the Picayune Forest is over 70% contained, with no homes damaged or injuries so far 🙂 .
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
