Yesterday, I shared a little about my commitment to caring for the Temple the Lord has gifted me. It’s a journey that will take time; after all, I didn’t get this way overnight, even though it sure feels like it happened that quickly. It’s the “it will take some time” aspect that can be frustrating in processes like these. We all want things like now π .
A few days ago, I was listening to a podcast with a woman I’ve come to really like. She is a fitness coach, and in that particular episode, she wasn’t talking about fitness, well, at least at first. She was sharing five random facts; I won’t go into the details of those five things. The gist of her episode that day was that time is going to pass, whether you choose to take care of yourself or not; time will continue to go by anyway. So, for instance, when someone says it’s going to take six months for you to start seeing a noticeable difference in your appearance, well, guess what, that six months is going to go by regardless of whether you stick to a fitness journey or not. Why not do what you know is best for your body and see the results after those six months, rather than let the time go by and you’re in the same rut?
I was thinking about that podcast this morning. Yes, it is focused on health and taking care of myself. However, I realized that it’s true about our relationship with our Lord as well. Stick with me here, it might be a little stretch, but I think you’ll understand what I mean.
Jesus is going to return to us. He is coming back to bring Heaven to earth and to ask His children how we chose to live our lives while in this world. We have the choice to live as He instructed many years ago, or we don’t. He’s going to return regardless of the choice we make. It’s going to happen anyway, so why not live our lives in a way that is pleasing to Christ?
If you’re like me, you’d like to hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant”. The alternative, ya that’s not attractive to me π .
Friends, we have choices presented to us each and every day. Those choices have responsibilities and accountability that go along with them. We can choose to take care of ourselves, take care of others, and make a difference, or we don’t. At the end of the day, we’ll have to explain the choices we made. Yes, it’s going to anyway, meaning time is going to pass, and Jesus will return, so, let’s make the best choices we can while we are here.
Have a good day, friends. Thanks as always for your wonderful support. Continued prayers for sweet Emily Rea’s return.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
