Have you ever just stopped and given thought to all the gifts the Lord has provided? Every day I give thanks, “in general,” for the gifts He has blessed me with. “Thank you, Lord, for all the gifts of this life” is in my morning and evening prayers. There are times when I list the specific things I feel so blessed to have been given.
Last night we had dinner with our breakfast buddies, (a belated birthday dinner). It was such a relaxing and enjoyable evening. We laughed and shared as we always do, and I couldn’t help but think how blessed we are that the Lord has brought them into our lives.
On the way home from dinner, our granddaughter called. She checks in daily, and we hear the latest about her day, her upcoming entry into vet tech school, the latest concert she went to, etc. Again, another gift from the Lord 🙂 .
We are truly blessed with many wonderful friends, a beautiful family, children, and grandchildren. We’re blessed with our health, our home located in what we call paradise, and most importantly, a loving relationship with our Lord, who gave His life for us.
This morning, as I sat with Father and thought about these gifts, I gave thanks for them all, one by one. I think it’s important to recognize daily how blessed we are and to give thanks. Even on our worst days, there is something to be thankful for.
So friends, as you begin this day, give thanks. You woke up today, the sun is shining, it’s springtime, and the list goes on and on. Just give thanks to Father, for each one of the blessings in your life, you might just be surprised how many there are 🙂 .
Have a wonderful day, everyone. I’m headed out to spend time on the water, another wonderful gift He’s provided!
1 Peter 4:10-11
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
