Plug In

This morning, as I rode my bike, I was listening to a replay of CeCe Winans giving the sermon at her church on Mother’s Day. Wow, it was such a good message, as she spoke about mothers praying for their daughters. Actually, the title of her sermon was, “Don’t Stop Praying”.

As I listened to her share the story from Matthew of the mother who came to Jesus to ask him to heal her daughter possessed by a demon, I realized that this message of prayer, well, it’s broader than just mothers and daughters. She talked of being persistent in prayer, even when we feel that God is not listening. Even when Father is silent, show Him our faith, and keep pursuing His grace, guidance, and help.

CeCe used an example in her sermon that was so spot on. Those times when we feel disconnected from the Lord, those times when we feel drained and don’t feel like He is listening, those are the times to plug in to Him more fully. When your phone is running out of battery, when it’s sluggish, not performing, what do you do? You plug it in and recharge it. Well, we need to do the same with the Lord. We need to recharge ourselves with Him, even when we feel He is silent.

Friends, satan takes great pleasure in poking at us. He loves it when we feel isolated, alone, and feel like Father has left us. That is when he is most active and tries to hide that charging cord. Well, lucky for us, the Lord has multiple chargers around for us 🙂 .

Take time today, friends, to plug in to the Lord. Let Him recharge you, strengthen you, and give you the hope and guidance you need to face every challenge. Show Him your faith, and even when you think He’s silent, keep your heart open to accept His love. He’s there, He will always be there.

Have a good day, friends. Oh, and if you want to listen to CeCe’s message, here is the link to her Mother’s Day sermon.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
