I woke up with a start this morning when the thunderstorm outside made itself a little more known. Oy, it was a big thunderboomer as we say. Once I had settled myself, the next thought that came to mind was, “Well, so much for riding my bike or walking outside this morning”. I can’t really complain because we need the rain so badly here in SW Florida. Had this not been a work day, I would welcome the chance to just curl up with a blanky all day and watch it rain! But, alas, it’s not meant to be.
Even though I was grateful for the rain, it did throw a wrench into my morning routine. Time to pivot to something else to get my body moving indoors.
Oh, the curveballs that life can sometimes toss our way. It happens, and this was minor compared to what so many have to deal with in this life. Yes, friends, there are times when life deals us a hand that we’re not quite sure what to do with. Things happen that we simply don’t expect. Fortunately, though, we’re not alone in this world to handle those unexpected times.
During the most difficult times in our lives, the Lord is there for us. And…you know what? He’s there for us in the happiest of times, too. Taking time each day to connect with Him helps us strengthen that unbreakable bond that will carry us through the most difficult times.
The rain will come in this life. There will be times when the hand we’re dealt has lousy cards in it. In those moments, when we feel the weakest, give everything to Jesus. Let Him have the burden because He is there to carry us through the storm, and show us what cards to discard π .
Have a good day, friends, and remember, you are never alone π .
Matthew 11:28
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
