Consistency

As I’ve restarted my fitness journey, one thing that is so important is consistency. Stay consistent with the way you eat, get rest, exercise, and water, oh, and sunshine every day. The more consistent you can be, the better your body feels.

I thought about consistency this morning, but in a different way. Yes, my first thoughts were about making sure I was getting my water in first thing, but…that took me to my relationship with Father. Being consistent with our relationship with the Lord, that too must be maintained in order for the relationship to be strong and healthy. It’s important to talk with Him every day. It’s important to read His word and do things that bring us closer to Him. It’s important to share the gift of His love whenever we can.

You all know that each morning and evening, I spend time on my lanai with Father. I’m very consistent with that time. Each evening, I’m also consistent in reading evening prayer from the little red book my husband gifted to me, “The Practice of Religion”. I not only read that, but I also read each evening, “Our Offering to God” from Saint Augustine. I wanted to share this little prayer this morning because it is so simple, but so spot on.

Our Offering to God
“First give thyself to God: then to the work God gives thee to do”.
(Saint Augustine.)

“Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.

Take my moments and my days
Let them pass in endless praise.

Take my eyes and let them see
Souls that may be saved for Thee.

Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.

Take my feet and let them be
Bent on works of love for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing
Prayers and praises to my King.

Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from Thee.

Thus my life will truly be
Consecrated Lord, to Thee.”

Friends, be consistent with your relationship with the Lord. Be there with Him every day, and He will be with you.

Have a wonderful day, continued prayers for sweet Emily Rea and her return.

Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
