Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, stepfathers, father figures, and grandfathers out there. I’m thinking about my dad today. I can’t believe he’s been gone for almost 28 years. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him, or have a memory pop into my head. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of my dad.
I give thanks today as well for the gift of my husband. My goodness, what a wonderful father and grandfather he is. And…he’s got the best dad jokes, just ask our kids 🙂 .
Yes, today I lift prayers for all the dads out there.
Gracious God, even as we give thanks for the fatherly care offered by Joseph to our savior Jesus Christ, we offer our prayers for all fathers, that they may be examples of all that is true and noble, just and pure, lovable and excellent; for you are gracious O lover of souls, and to you we give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
May your day be filled with time with family as we celebrate you!
Oh, and an added bonus, it’s the first day of summer. That also means it’s the longest day of the year, so a little extra time with dad today. There is already a trip to the beach to watch the sunset in our Father’s Day plans.
