Hey Jesus

This morning I was reading a few different prayers written by others. This week we are starting to remove items from the church. It’s daunting in many ways as we work through what to store, what to keep and where, what we no longer need, etc. Yesterday, I found myself just saying, “I have to start somewhere.” So, that’s what I did, and by the end of the day I had a plan and a pretty good idea where the first “batch” of things would fit nicely.

That work will continue today and throughout the next several weeks. So, this morning, I found myself reading a collection of prayers for strength and guidance. I wanted to share one that was perfect for what I needed today. Maybe it’s what you need as well.

Hey Jesus,
Thank You for the strength to begin again. You never face an unexpected moment-nothing catches You off guard. When my perspective feels narrow and unsure, Yours spans eternity, weaving every detail with wisdom I can trust. As I step into today, steady my soul in that truth. Let gratitude be my first response-not because life is perfect, but because You are present. When my energy feels thin, remind me that renewal isn’t found in striving harder but in drawing near to You. You are the source of refreshment that never runs dry. Teach me to notice the needs of those around me, to move with compassion instead of comparison, to see people as You see them-beloved and seen. Help me walk slowly enough to sense Your Spirit in the small things. Guard my heart from hurry and my hands from control. Let reverence rise within me as I remember that the God who holds galaxies also holds my day. Your sovereignty reshapes my perspective-what feels uncertain has already passed through Your capable hands. Thank You that strength, wisdom, and peace aren’t goals I chase but gifts You freely give. Anchor me in that assurance today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Have a good day, friends. May it be filled with opportunities to make a difference 🙂 .

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
