Yesterday morning in this little blog, I wrote about the oddness of the week. Well, I’m happy to say the oddness continued throughout the day π . It truly got to the point where my co-workers and I had to just laugh about the things that were happening. At one point, we jokingly started listing the things that, according to the book of Revelation, will happen before Jesus returns, wondering if we were seeing these signs.
We decided that satan was in our midst trying to shake us off our game, but we were bound and determined not to let that happen. With every twist and turn of the day, and every silly thing that would happen, we all just laughed. Many times saying, “You can’t make this up.”
As I think about the week so far, and wonder what is in store for us today, I’m smiling. The best way to combat satan is to do just the opposite of what he wants. He wants frustration, anger, jealousy, and every other ugly emotion he can muster in us. So, when we respond with laughter, joy, compassion, and love, well, we turn the tables, and he loses.
I found myself a few nights ago letting him have the upper hand, getting into my head and causing me to stew about the events of the day. Then, I literally stopped and said, “Satan, stop, I’m not going to let you do this.” I asked Jesus to intervene and drive satan from my thoughts and help me to shed the ugliness I was feeling. It wasn’t long before I was happily making dinner with my husband and had forgotten about the craziness of the day.
My message this morning, friends, is short. Don’t let satan win. Recognize when he is in your midst. Face him with the strength that the Lord gives, and then do just the opposite of what he wants. Ask the Lord to help you; trust me, He will π .
So, today, whatever comes your way, smile, laugh, and even toss in a “You can’t make this stuff up”. Then just tell the fallen one, “Not today”.
Have a good day, friends. Continued prayers for the return of Emily Rea.
