Throughout last week, I found myself at different points in, well, not a good place. My mind was filled with things to do, not just at work but at home. As I’ve mentioned here before, I’m a list maker, and as you can imagine, I have them everywhere. Multiple, actually. By the end of the week, I was tired.

This morning, as I had my prayer time with Father, I asked Him to guide me through this week to do His will. I also asked that he surround me with His protection from the arrows that satan may shoot my way. You see, I’m pretty confident that the fallen one took quite the advantage of my situation last week. He found all the holes he needed to find and noodled his way in where I certainly didn’t need him.

During my time this morning, I asked Father what I could share here today. It took just a moment before I heard, “What is your perspective today?” Hmm…I thought about that and realized that Father was asking me, “Are you going to begin your week in strength with Me by your side, or alone and let satan have a playground?” I think I actually answered that out loud, thanking Him for His message and strength.

How are we going to begin our day and week, friends? Are we going to let the week and the evil one have the space? Or are we going to stand firm, protected and strengthened by the Lord? I think it’s a pretty easy choice.

When I think about how I feel after allowing the fallen one to interfere in my daily life, yes, the choice is easy. It’s physically exhausting trying to pull yourself out of the hole that he has dug for you. However, when I let Jesus lead me through the day, when I put Him first and try to do all I can to focus on Him, things are brighter, the day is more productive, and I’m a happier camper.

So, friends, what’s your perspective this morning? Are you ready to begin the day and the week with Jesus as your guide? Take a moment this morning and ask Him to put up the hedge of protection around you; ask Him to light the path you are to follow. Then, look ahead, walk the path, letting Him guide you. And…when you feel yourself veering off it, stop and ask Him to recenter you.
