Make Us Instruments

This morning, friends, my mind is filled with many things. The week, as I suspected it would, has flown by. Our team has been working hard all week to move as much as possible from the church. We’ve done a nice job of setting up new temporary spaces for the coming year. I have to admit, I’m pooped, both mentally and physically. But hey, I sure am logging steps every day 🙂 .

This morning I just want to share one of my favorite prayers. It’s attributed to St. Francis, and it’s so comforting. It “hit the spot” this morning; I hope it does so for you as well.

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is
hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where
there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where
there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to
be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is
in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we
are born to eternal life. Amen.

Thanks, everyone, for your text messages and phone calls over the past few weeks. I’m so blessed to call you all friends.

Have a great day, everyone!

Exodus 15:2
The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
