This morning I debated whether to write this little blog, well, whether to share this particular message, I mean. It’s a message that isn’t easy, but yet it is what our lives are about.
A friend passed away last evening. He has not been well for quite some time. You could say, I guess, that he was ready to go
While here in this world, he made a difference. He was a quiet man, but my goodness, he always had a smile on his face. He was always willing to help when asked; he had such a gentle demeanor, and he cared for others. His gentle soul brought a sense of calm when he was around, and when you spoke to him, it made you stop and pause for a moment, which is a good thing.
This little blog this morning, friends, is to remember this gentle soul and to wish him Godspeed. But it’s also to remind us that one day, we will all leave this world. Will we leave it better than we found it? Will we leave it knowing that we did all we could to bring others to Christ? Will we leave it with no regrets? And…when we step through the golden gates of Heaven and meet Jesus, will He say, “Well done, good and faithful servant”?
I believe my friend met that greeting last night. I give thanks for the gift of this child of God, and more importantly, I give thanks that Jesus gave His life so that we may all live eternally with Him.
Live today, friends, like today is all you have. Say the I love you’s, be a beacon of hope in Christ, and share His love.
1 Corinthians 15:26
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
