Bless All Who Labor

When I was a kid, Labor Day was a of course, a three-day-weekend, and a day off from school. Yes there was usually a parade and if we were lucky there was grilling, however, that was also the weekend that the public pool closed for the season. It was an end to summer, which of course was, (and admittedly still may be), my favorite season.

It wasn’t until I got much older that I realized the reason for this Holiday. Today in this little blog, I simply give thanks to everyone in this country that make it run. Thanks to the waiters and waitresses in the small diners and big restaurants. Thanks to the airline workers who take the reservations, service the planes, move the baggage and fly our citizens from point a to point b. Thanks to the healthcare workers, medical and dental for giving the best you can to your patients. Thanks to delivery drivers, steel mill workers, police, firefighters, construction folks, seafarers, cattle ranchers and farmers who bring in the food we eat. There are countless other careers that I know I haven’t mentioned, please know that I thank you too.

This nation is special. It’s blessed. Its people, God’s children are what make it that way. So to all who make this country work each day, thank you.

Thank you also friends for all your prayers yesterday. Our final service in the church was beautiful. Jesus was with us and will continue to guide us in the months ahead. Have a good day, friends.

Psalm 90:17
Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands!
