Making It Harder

Have you noticed how we humans sometimes make too much of things? We overthink; we make things harder than they need to be; we take on too much, or we just, in general, overreact to situations. You see, I can say these things because I’m exhibit A in all of those situations 🙂 .

I guess it’s my Type A personality; you know the part of me that wants to get the task accomplished and off the list. I can be a little driven, ya that’s an understatement. Because of that, yes, there are times when I overthink or overreact, and that tends to make things more difficult than they need to be.

There’s this little thing called trust and faith that helps us through all situations. Opening our hearts to the Lord, giving everything to Him, can make us more like ducks. Well, what I mean by that is, like the rain on a duck’s back, things can just roll off.

This morning, as I spent time with Father, I asked Him to help me to seek Him in all that I do today. I asked Him to help me to come to Him with every decision, that I might act in His way. I asked for patience in situations I know will arise, and I asked that my faith be firm and that He guide my path throughout the day.

Friends, we can’t get through this life without the faith and trust in our Lord. He is the solid foundation for us to stand on and with. We have a choice. We can try to go it alone, overthinking things, making things harder than they need to be, or we can surrender to Him. Open our hearts, give him all our cares, worries, and joys, and let Him do the rest. We’re not alone, so let’s stop acting like we are.

Have a good day everyone. Continued prayers for Bill and Lorrie and for the return of sweet Emily Rea.

Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
