Funny title for today’s little blog, don’t ya think?
Yesterday, my day started off with a shelf in our laundry room trying to jump onto my head. I went in to grab some Ziplocs from the storage basket, and literally the shelf the basket was sitting on came out of the wall into my arms. Ya, that was fun. My husband and I spent the next few minutes getting things into safe places and taking the shelf out of the wall. Ah yes, another weekend project on the books for my husband.
We talked about how satan had been “noodling” these past few days. Yes, when he gets on a roll, he can make life challenging. Lately, we have been openly acknowledging when satan seems at play. It helps us to take a moment to stop and tell him to get back in his playpen. It really does help to pull the Lord back into the situation, rather than getting even more irritated and letting the fallen one have his way.
This morning, I was up early, not as early as on a weekday, but it was early nonetheless. The sun had not yet risen, but I could see the soft glow in the distance. As I finished my conversation with Father, the brightness on the horizon had increased, and almost as if on cue, the birds began to sing. The sun is their alarm clock, I guess, and it was beautiful to listen to. It was Father saying good morning, I think.
Friends, yesterday started with craziness, and in a short 24 hours, the very next morning started with beautiful music from nature. Life is full of ups and downs, and if we pull the Lord close, we’ll ride through them all.
Take a moment today to give thanks for the simple things, like the beauty of the birds singing at sunrise. Openly acknowledge when satan may be trying to get under your skin; send him packing. Ask Jesus to walk close to you so there is no room for the fallen one.
Have a good day, friends; go enjoy the beauty of this fall day 🙂 .
Psalm 90:14
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
