This morning I was having my quiet time with Father. It was quieter than usual on the lanai, given that it’s a weekday. As I sat and prayed, I asked Him to help me with the message I could share here this morning. Almost instantly, I heard, “Walk with me”. “Thank you, Lord, got it”, I said out loud.
As I thought about that message, things started to come to mind. The Lord really is here with us if we just open our hearts and minds to His presence.
At first, my thoughts were about all the times that I’ve asked the Lord to walk with me throughout my day. I ask Him regularly to be by my side, to guide my decisions, to help me stand strong against the evils that satan may throw at me. However, the more I thought about those words, the more I could see Father asking me to walk with Him. He was the one saying, “Walk with me”.
It made me think of the book of Genesis when He walked every day with Adam and Eve in the garden. I can only imagine the most beautiful conversations they had together. Can you put yourself there, actually walking with the Lord in a garden filled with everything you could ever need, knowing that all He wanted in return was your love of Him?
Well, friends, He gives us this opportunity every day. Though we may not be in Eden, we still are surrounded by incredible beauty. Father’s hope with His children now is no different from what it was with His first children. He wants a relationship with all of us that is honest and true. He wants us to trust in Him fully, giving everything to Him. He wants us to follow Him and believe in Him.
He gave the most precious gift for us; He sent His Son to us in human form. He walked among us and died a brutal death for us. Then He rose again from the dead to show us what is possible if we but follow Him.
So today, let’s answer His call to “Walk with Me”. Keep Him close in all you do. Give every decision to Him first. Give thanks to Him for all the good that will happen today. Know that He is there by your side.
Have a good day, everyone. Prayers for all who are in the path of Hurricane Isaias. It’s not lost on me that exactly two years ago today Hurricane Milton made landfall here in SW Florida. Be safe, everyone!
John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
