Be Guided

You all probably get a little bored with me telling you about my early morning conversations with Father. I don’t know if you have conversations like I do; I hope so. It’s such a special time, and the feeling I have after spending time with Him and hearing His messages, I’m uplifted.

This morning I didn’t just ask what message I could share here in this little blog, but I asked what work I could do for Him today. What I heard was, “You can come to me”. This made me think of a song that I was listening to yesterday. Actually, it wasn’t a song; I was listening to a testimony from Casting Crowns lead singer Mark Hall. He shared how he got started as a singer/songwriter and, more importantly, how God called him into service.

He shared how he was ready to give up on music after just beginning. He was ready to go home. He was upset that he had finally taken a leap of faith to follow the Lord, only to feel like he wasn’t good enough to do it. That’s when the Lord said, “I don’t need you; I want you. I want you to be part of me. Let me show the world what I can do through those who come to me”. Mark shared that he went back to school the next day, completed his degree, and began working in youth ministry, and of course producing beautiful music in service to the Lord. It was a wonderfully uplifting story of faith, trust, and hope in the Lord.

On the way home from work, I did listen to a song. It’s an old country song sung by George Straight called “A Love Without End, Amen“. If you’ve not heard the song before, it’s about a father’s love for their son. The chorus says it all:
And he said, “Let me tell you a secret about a father’s love
A secret that my daddy said was just between us”
He said, “Daddies don’t just love their children every now and then
It’s a love without end, amen”
It’s a love without end, amen
.

The final verse of the song, he sings about standing at the pearly gates, confused because if they knew half the things he’d done in his life, they wouldn’t let him in. Then he sings the chorus.

This morning, as I thought about listening to both of these musical works yesterday, I realized the message that Father has for all of us. First and foremost, He loves us with a love that we cannot even fathom. He. Loves. Us. Secondly, He wants to work through us, giving us all that we need to be happy. Wonderful things happen when we take a leap of faith and let ourselves be guided to do His work.

Just some random ramblings this morning. Let yourself be guided, friends; you’d be amazed what you can do, or should I say, what He can do through you 🙂 .

Have a great day, everyone!
