My husband and I have a new routine; we’re trying to take a little walk each night after dinner. We started this several months ago as part of my fitness journey. Walking, even for just 15 minutes or so after a meal, helps fight insulin resistance, which causes all sorts of issues, but that is for another blog 🙂 .
I’ll admit there are some nights we don’t fit it in, but for the most part we’re walking each night. If we get outside early enough, we run into neighbors and their furbabies. It’s a nice way to catch up with the happenings, and for me to sneak in some of those puppy kisses 🙂 .
Whether we meet up with neighbors or not, we get the opportunity to spend some quiet time together, taking in wonderful things like the huge full moon we had recently. We chat about nothing in particular, and sometimes we just hold hands and walk without saying anything at all. This evening walk is important because it gives us time to be together and not talk shop, which is hard to do when you work together. I like what it’s grown into.
Today, friends, I just encourage you to find those moments that take you away from the craziness of the day. Take a walk, sit on your porch with coffee and enjoy the sunrise or sunset, find a comfy chair and enjoy God’s word, do something to remind yourself that you are blessed with many gifts in this life. Each night that we walk, I am reminded how blessed I am with the gift of my husband 🙂 .
Have a good day, friends. Continued prayers for Bill & Lorrie and for the return of Emily Rea.
p.s. Thanks to my friend Cookie for the beautiful sunrise picture from the Georgia mountains yesterday.
Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
