I’ve Been Reminded

I shared here on Friday that we had our annual Christmas Market at church this weekend. This was our 70th annual event. Wow! I don’t know about the other 69 years; I’ve participated for the last five, but this event reminded me of so much.

Over the past week, I’ve been reminded that life is short, and sweating the small stuff really wastes the little time we have here. As my mother-in-law asked me when I would get frustrated with things our kids would do, “Is it going to matter in 20 years? If so, then do something; if not, then relax and let them be kids”. So, don’t sweat the small stuff, and just do your best to serve the Lord.

Over the past week, I’ve been reminded that relationships are precious, so don’t take them for granted. Never miss the opportunity to tell someone you love them, say thank you to a friend, or to just let someone know you are thinking about them. One day they won’t be here to share those things.

Over the past week, I’ve been reminded that God is in control. His plan is all that matters, and though we may not fully comprehend it at times, we must trust in Him. Lean into Him when you feel lost and don’t know how to take the next step; He will listen and light the way.

Friends, this week I’ve been reminded to: do the right thing, even when no one is looking, love to the fullest, and do the things here in this world so you hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant” when you meet Jesus in eternity.

Have a good day, friends. Take a moment this morning and lift prayers for those who are in need of them.

Romans 12:9
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
